In search of people in Steamboat Springs, Jackson, a recent graduate approached me due to my out of place-ness. He was curious what I was up to as a stranger just hanging around instead of doing tourist things he sees people do in his hometown. I talked a bit about my search for people to take portraits of and he lit up, Jackson has an interest in photography and fashion and wanted to learn a bit about how I was doing what I was doing. As I walked him through my setup he told me he had texted his friends and they should be around soon and that they would all want to stand in. As I got to know them and their hopes for the future and thoughts about what currently was happening I saw that this was a group of childhood friends navigating the last days of summer before they are pulled apart by time, place, and pursuit of what is next in life.
